Engage your students and faculty to a remarkable and unforgettable school visit with Shawn Middleton, author of Sam and the Peanut Butter Crackers.
In the story, Sam and the Peanut Butter Crackers, a young boy tries a new snack for the first time. Little does he know that the only words he will be able to say are “Mmmgumpf” when the peanut butter gets stuck to the roof of his mouth. How will he explain the rules of “Green Grass Monster” to his friend Harry or to his babysitter Stephanie? Soon he will find out that his babysitter is not so ordinary after all.
During a full day presentation, he will make up to four presentations lasting between 35-45 minutes.
Presentations start with Shawn retelling the story, Sam and the Peanut Butter Crackers. Following the story, Shawn will discuss the process of writing a book. He will talk about everything from the initial idea to the final product. He will also talk about how a book develops and changes over time. Shawn inspires his audience to create their own stories. Presentations end with a brief question and answer.
Shawn will make his book available for sale to parents, teachers, and students wishing to purchase signed copies before, during, and after a school visit.
